BIOGRAPHY
Steve Caparotta is an AMS Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) and the Chief Meteorologist at WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is the founder of CAP Weather Consulting, LLC, where he provides independent forensic meteorological analyses for attorneys, insurance companies, businesses, and government agencies.
With nearly three decades of experience in operational forecasting, severe weather analysis, and scientific communication, Steve specializes in translating complex atmospheric science into clear, objective, and defensible conclusions.
Steve also serves as an instructor in the Department of Oceanography & Coastal Sciences at Louisiana State University, where he teaches courses in atmospheric sciences in a budding Coastal Meteorology program.
Known for his accuracy, integrity, and ability to explain complicated weather concepts in understandable terms, Steve is a trusted resource in the courtroom, the boardroom, and the classroom.
